Gathering Space is a modern contemporary waterfront residence in Boca Raton, Florida by Shelly Preziosi of House Dressing Interiors and Design, structured around volume, light, and open-plan living. The home’s defining architectural condition is its high ceilings and large connected gathering zones, where interior scale becomes a design feature rather than a byproduct. Instead of relying on heavy architectural ornament, the space is composed through proportion and long sightlines, allowing the main living areas to feel continuous and visually calm while still supporting active day-to-day use.
A curated art program plays a central role in the interior identity, with artwork used as an architectural counterpoint to the clean surfaces and restrained material palette. In waterfront homes, the design challenge is often balancing interior personality with exterior views, and this project achieves that through controlled modern backgrounds that do not compete with the landscape.
