This Saratoga, California project by Watermark Environments is centered around an infinity-edge pool and a full resort-style outdoor environment designed as a complete architectural extension of the home. Rather than treating the pool as a standalone amenity, the design operates as a constructed landscape system, integrating water, terraces, and outdoor gathering zones into a unified plan. In this type of work, the boundaries between architecture and site design are intentionally blurred, since circulation, views, and outdoor room structure become as important as the home’s interior layout.
The infinity edge functions as the project’s defining architectural gesture, relying on precise grading, structural engineering, and concealed hydraulic planning to create the visual illusion of the water plane disappearing into the horizon. Supporting elements such as fountains, water features, outdoor kitchens, and entertainment pavilions reinforce the concept of the property as a private resort, where exterior space is built with the same level of technical coordination as interior construction. The result is an environment shaped by craftsmanship and planning, with water used as both a visual surface and a spatial organizer for how the property is experienced.
